Commissioned to commemorate the closure of Polk Center in Western Pennsylvania, this short film gives a brief history of Polk and the usage of large state institutions to house people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and shows how Polk’s closing is part of a shift to home- and community-based services for this community. The film is part of the collection of the Heinz History Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
