The first documentary in 50 years to be made inside a State institution for the intellectually and developmentally disabled, YOU. SLEEP. STAY. follows 81-year-old Fred Ashbaugh. Deaf and unable to sign or speak, Fred has lived at Polk State School since he was a child. Now it’s closing and Fred has to move, unlocking opportunities for him to finally be seen and understood. Meanwhile, his brother searches for Fred’s new home and, in the process, unearths long-buried traumas.
